Woman committed suicide with three children in Andhra Pradesh. Daughter-in-law took a big step by not getting part of the land and committed suicide with three children.

A heart-wrenching case has come to light in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. A woman set herself on fire along with her three children over a land dispute.

In this incident, the woman and her daughter have died while the condition of the other daughter and son is critical. The police have informed about the matter.

Suicide due to land dispute

According to the police, this case is being told of Yelamanchili village. There is a land dispute behind the case.

The deceased have been identified as Chintu Chintamani (45) and her daughter Janhvi (18), police said.

Among the injured are Janhvi’s brother Sai Sushank (15) and sister Shri Ranjini. Both are being treated at a hospital in Visakhapatnam.

Mother-in-law had refused to share in the land.

Sub Inspector (SI) Pari Naidu told that the dispute started after Chinamani’s mother-in-law had refused to give her part of the land.

Chintamani was upset with her mother-in-law’s decision. Investigation revealed that Chinamani’s mother-in-law wanted to share a major part of her property with her daughter and the rest with her son (Chinamani’s husband).

The SI said that a woman and her three children committed suicide by self-immolation, in which the mother and a daughter died on the spot, while the other two were seriously injured and were admitted to the hospital.

Investigation of the case continues

The police have taken the statement of Ranjini. Ranjini told that her father did not take care of her and did not ask for property from her grandmother, due to which she was going through mental stress.

She told that due to the non-availability of property, she decided to immolate herself. According to Ranjini’s statement, the police have registered a case and further investigation is on into the matter.
