Yogi Government Opposed Ashish Mishra’s Bail Plea

Yogi government opposed Ashish Mishra’s bail, filed a reply in Supreme Court: Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

The Yogi government had strongly opposed the bail plea of Ashish Mishra, the main accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri Violence Case.

The Yogi government has filed its reply in the Supreme Court during a hearing on Tuesday. It is wrong to say that the state did not effectively oppose the bail plea of accused Ashish Mishra, the government said.

The accused in this case, Ashish Mishra is the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra.

All arrangements have been made for the protection of witnesses.

The UP Police told the Supreme Court that the state has made all efforts to protect the witnesses and families of the victims of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident.

The Supreme Court was told that all the witnesses are also regularly approached by the police to evaluate the security conditions.

Supreme Court had sought an answer.

It is worth noting that during the last hearing held on March 16, the Supreme Court had sent a notice to the UP government seeking its response.

The court had also asked the state government to ensure the safety of the witnesses. The Allahabad High Court had granted bail to Ashish Mishra. Ashish Mishra was released from jail on 15 February.

A petition was filed in the Supreme Court against the decision to grant bail. Advocate Prashant Bhushan, fighting the case on behalf of the farmers, had said that a witness has also been attacked.

Ashish Mishra was accused of crushing farmers with his car.

Let us inform you that this case is of Lakhimpur Kheri district on 3rd October last year. Some farmers in the Tikunia area were protesting against the visit of UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya.

During this, some farmers were crushed by an SUV car at high speed. Violence broke out after this incident. A driver and two BJP workers were allegedly lynched by angry farmers.

It is alleged that the car with which the farmers were crushed was driven by Ashish Mishra.

The SIT constituted by the Supreme Court submitted its report to the court. Ashish was arrested after the investigation of the SIT.
