YSR Congress wins in Mandal and Zilla Parishad elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party YSR Congress has won a landslide victory in the elections to the Mandal and Zilla Parishads in Andhra Pradesh.

At the same time, the opposition party Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was defeated in almost all the districts.

According to media reports, as of 7.30 pm on Sunday, the YSR Congress has won 385 out of 515 Zilla Parishad constituencies and 5,565 out of 7,221 Mandal Parishad constituencies.

Elections for these seats were held on April 8. The TDP had boycotted the elections.

Even then, technically its candidate remained in the fray as ballots were printed before the party’s decision was announced.

Let us inform you that here the election process for MPTC and ZPTC of the second and third phase of the Panchayati Raj system started in March 2020, but due to the Corona epidemic these elections were delayed.

Here out of the total 659 ZPTCs, the ruling party won 126. The party also got an unopposed victory in 2,271 MPTCs.

TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu got a setback: With this, TDP got a unanimous victory in 100 MPTC.

However, it dealt a blow to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu as the YSR Congress won all the four ZPTC seats in the Kuppam assembly constituency.

Chandrababu Naidu represents the Kuppam seat. Also, YSR Congress won 17 out of 19 MPTC seats in Kuppam.

In Chandrababu Naidu’s native village Narvaripalli, the ruling party also won the MPTC seat by a margin of 1,000 votes.

Union Minister V Muraleedharan on Sunday reacted to Pala Bishop’s remarks of ‘love jihad’ and ‘narcotic jihad’, saying the real situation in Kerala is worrying and it is a cause for concern.
