Ingredients: Delicious Poppy Seeds and Almond Halwa Recipe
- Almonds: half cup (soak overnight and peel)
- Poppy seeds: half cup
- Milk: 1 cup
- Desi ghee: 1/4 cup
- Cardamom powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Dry fruits: finely chopped
- Saffron threads: 5-6 (for decoration)
- Sugar: can be added or reduced as per taste
Method:
Now heat ghee in a pan and then add poppy seeds and almond paste to it. Fry it on low flame till its color becomes light golden and fragrance starts coming from it. This process can take about 10-15 minutes.
First, soak the poppy seeds and almonds in water for 4-5 hours or overnight. After soaking, put the poppy seeds and almonds in the mixer, add a little milk, and make a thick paste.
After the paste is roasted, now add 1 cup of milk to it and mix well. When the paste is well mixed in the milk, add sugar to it and cook till the sugar dissolves completely and the halwa thickens. Now after this add cardamom powder to the halwa for fragrance and mix well. After this add finely chopped dry fruits. Cook it on low flame till the ghee separates from the halwa. Your halwa is ready. Now take out the halwa in a bowl and garnish it with saffron threads on top. Serve hot poppy seeds and almond halwa and enjoy.
