Abolition Of Article 370- Drop Up To 40% In Terror Attacks
Abolition of Article 370 – the effect of the campaign of the security forces, drop up to 40% in the attacks-recruitment in Kashmir.
The abolition of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and the operation of the security forces have the effect that the terrorist activities in Kashmir are continuously being curbed.
The curbs on terrorist attacks and recruitment of new terrorists are clearly visible.
If we compare the first nine months of the current year with the first nine months of 2020, then the recruitment and attacks of terrorists have reduced by 40 percent.
According to security agencies, in the nine months till September 30 this year, 120 terrorists were killed in various encounters by the security forces, while 146 terrorists were killed in the same period last year.
Foreign terrorists are only 15 among the terrorists killed this year. Terrorist attacks are also under control.
Last year from January 1 to September 30, terrorists had carried out about 90 attacks. This includes civilian killings, grenade attacks, firing on security forces.
At the same time, only 54 terrorist incidents have happened so far this year.
In the first nine months last year, 42 security personnel and civilians were killed, while till September 30 this year, 19 security personnel and civilians were killed in terror attacks.
Deaths in terrorist attacks have decreased by 55 percent.
As a result of the operation of the security forces, there has been a significant reduction in the recruitment of youth in terrorist organizations by 40 percent this year.
In the first nine months of the year 2020, about 146 youths were made terrorists across Kashmir. At the same time, till 30 September this year, only 91 Kashmiri youth picked up the gun.
To eliminate terrorism, it is necessary to curb recruitment:
Imtiaz Hussain, an SSP rank police officer in Jammu and Kashmir, said that the recruitment of terrorists is more important than the number of terrorists killed.
Till the recruitment in terrorist organizations is not stopped, terrorism will remain alive.
In the last few years, many Kashmiri youths have become terrorists by being misguided by the propaganda of anti-national elements.
Since the year 2014, around seven-eight hundred youths have become terrorists. Most of them have been killed.
Last year around 200 youths went on the path of terror. At the same time, 91 youth have joined terrorist organizations so far this year.
Youth is now joining the mainstream with expectations:
Kashmir affairs expert Asif Qureshi said that the changes that have taken place in Kashmir after August 5, 2019, have put a stop to the recruitment of terrorists.
The propaganda on the ground by the separatist and anti-national elements is almost over. Various security agencies have also campaigned against the propaganda on the Internet media.
Apart from this, the energy of youth is being channeled into sports, social welfare, and nation-building activities. With this youth are joining the mainstream with new hope.
It is very important to bring down the recruitment of local youth in terrorist organizations to zero, only then terrorist violence will end completely.
