All LAW colleges in Tamil Nadu should have Ambedkar’s pictures, Madras High Court directive.

Now the portrait of Dr. BR Ambedkar will be visible in all the LAW colleges of Tamil Nadu.

In fact, the Madras High Court heard the petition of the student suspended from the college, and only then this decision has been given.

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court in its direction on Friday said that all law colleges in Tamil Nadu should put up photographs of Dr. BR Ambedkar.

The action was taken on the Scheduled Caste student by the college authority, after which he filed a petition in the Madras High Court.

During the hearing on the matter, Justice GR Swaminathan passed this order for all the law colleges of the state.

A student named S. Sasikumar demanded the principal of the college put up the portrait of Dr. Ambedkar and clashed with the college authority on this matter.

Shashikumar is studying law at Government Law College. Apart from Ambedkar’s picture in the college, Sasikumar demanded that the course be taught in the Tamil language.

The petitioner named three professors in his petition. On this, the court asked the petitioner to give the name of the respondent.

The court also directed the petitioner to apologize in writing to the principal.

Justice Swaminathan sought a report from the lawyer that he should ensure that the portrait of Dr. Ambedkar is installed in the principal’s room, to which the lawyer said that there was already a picture of Ambedkar in the principal’s room.
