“More than 90% of Venezuelans reject these threats. Our country is not afraid of invasion.”

He also urged citizens to join the militia, claiming that over 4.5 million Venezuelans are ready to defend the nation. However, independent experts argue that the actual number is much lower.

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado supported the Donald Trump administration’s stance, stating, “The time for change has come.” She alleged that the government’s militia recruitment has failed and criticized Maduro’s leadership.

Still, analysts caution that the opposition’s reliance on US-Venezuela tensions and hopes of direct US military intervention could further destabilize the country and mislead the public.
