Andhra Police sues Nara Lokesh and other TDP leaders for attacking Police Reserve Inspector.
Andhra Pradesh Police on Wednesday registered a case against TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh and other party leaders for abusing, hostage, and assaulting a police reserve inspector at Mangalagiri TDP party office.
It was told that the Inspector was performing his duties when he was treated like this.
“The Mangalagiri police of Guntur district has registered a case against Nara Lokesh, MLC Ashok Babu, former MLA Alapathi Raja, and some other TDP leaders for abusing, hostage and assaulting a police reserve inspector at Mangalagiri TDP party office,” the police said.
The case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
All this development took place on Tuesday after the TDP’s Mangalagiri office and Pattabhi Ram’s residence in Vijayawada was vandalized.
The TDP had called for a state-wide bandh in Andhra Pradesh on October 20 after a mob vandalized the party’s headquarters in Guntur.
Addressing the media, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu termed it as a ‘black day’.
He further alleged that the ruling YSRCP government has colluded with the police to ransack party offices and shield miscreants who attacked TDP workers.
The former Andhra Pradesh chief minister had urged all opposition parties to take part in the bandh called by the TDP on Wednesday.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) headquarters at Mangalagiri and offices in Visakhapatnam and other places were vandalized.
YSR Congress alleges that the spokesperson of the opposition party had made objectionable remarks against Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy during the press conference.
Earlier, on Tuesday morning itself, TDP spokesperson K Pattabhiram lodged an objection to the police notice being sent to former minister Nakka Ananda Babu.
Babu had reportedly made controversial remarks against Jagan.
Andhra Pradesh TDP President Achananaidu said, “The party strongly condemns the attack by YSR Congress goons on the headquarters and offices and residences of party leaders.
We do not understand whether we live in a democratic country or a fascist country. The Chief Minister should take responsibility for these attacks.
