The army captain was seriously injured in an explosion in suspicious situations while handling a grenade in district Poonch.

The incident took place around 12.30 pm last night. The district took place in the Balakot sector located on the Line of Control in Poonch.

Military sources say that when the captain of the army was handling the grenade, the grenade suddenly exploded near him.

The captain has been identified as Sourav Kumar. Officials said that he has been admitted to Rajouri Military Hospital for treatment.

A head constable of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle under suspicious circumstances in the Vadura area of ​​Sopore in North Kashmir district Baramulla.

The deceased has been identified as a 47-year-old GD Rajan Kumar resident of Chatiana Odisha.

Police said that the deceased 92 battalion was on duty at CRPF headquarters Vadura. The jawans told that the atmosphere of chaos in the camp spread when the sound of the bullet suddenly echoed.

The direction from which the bullet sounded, all ran on the same side. On reaching the spot, he saw GD Rajan Kumar fall on the ground covered with blood. He also had his service rifle with him.

The jawans immediately rushed the jawan to the nearest hospital but the doctors declared him brought dead.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that a case has been registered in this regard.

Investigations have also been initiated to find out the cause of death. In the interrogation conducted by the officer so far, it has not been found out why the head constable finally took such a big step.

The CRPF spokesperson also confirmed Rajesh Kumar’s death and said that the body of the deceased would be sent to his family members only after the post-mortem.

The spokesman said that there was no tension on Rajesh Kumar regarding duty. He must have been upset due to some domestic reason. At present, orders have been issued to investigate the matter.
