This morning an IED was found near the railway crossing at Kanihama, Naugam on the National Highway. On receipt of this information, the bomb disposal squad of security forces and police reached the spot.
Traffic on the national highway has been stopped. Shortly afterward the bomb disposal squad deactivated the IED. Now traffic has been restored once again on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
IGP Vijay Kumar of Kashmir Zone said that the IED was found a few meters away from Naugam railway station on Pantha Chowk-Naugam road. The army’s road opening party and police got an IED this morning.
IEDs were placed in tin boxes. Soon after, traffic was stopped on the national highway. The bomb disposal squad succeeded in neutralizing the IED shortly after.
Kashmir’s IGP Vijay Kumar told that there was a plan to get the army from the IED and target the security forces. The rail service started after 11 months between Baramulla to Banihal and Banihal to Baramulla continues normally.
Significantly, despite the attack by terrorists recently a few days ago, security agencies in Kashmir are on high alert.
Every vehicle is being checked by putting blocks in place. The police also plan to make strong security arrangements through drones in the Kashmir Valley.

One lakh youth are in the queue to be recruited in the army and security forces. On the other hand, about four lakh youths will appear for written examination for Class IV posts in government departments on 27 February.
More than three lakh youths are expected to be employed for the posts to be filled in Army, Engineer, Draftsman, State Motor Garage including many departments.
