Bomb Threat in Delhi: Delhi Police on high alert after bomb threat email targeting Delhi CM Secretariat, Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), and UCMS. Bomb squad, dog squad, and anti-terror units deployed—investigation underway to trace the source of the threat.
New Delhi: A major security scare gripped the national capital on Tuesday after an email threatening bomb blasts at the Delhi Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), and University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) in GTB Hospital premises was received.
According to Delhi Police Commissioner Nidhin Valsan, the threat mail was sent to the Dean of MAMC, mentioning possible explosions. While the email did not contain a specific location of the bomb, authorities immediately launched a massive search and security operation.
Police & Anti-Terror Units on Ground
The Dog Squad and Bomb Disposal Squad were sent out immediately.
Senior officers, including Additional DCP Rishi, ACP Kamala Market Sulekha, and an anti-terrorism officer, are leading the search operations inside the Secretariat.
Simultaneously, SHO IP State is supervising operations at MAMC after the institution also reported receiving the threatening email.
The Delhi Police cyber team revealed that the mail originated from an Outlook ID. The matter is now being investigated in coordination with special units and intelligence agencies to trace its source.
Bomb Threat in Delhi: Political Angle Suspected
Commissioner Valsan added that the email contained references to political issues linked to a particular state and might have been sent mistakenly. However, the authorities are treating the threat with utmost seriousness as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The government of the concerned state has been informed, and security protocols are being strengthened. Officials clarified that although no specific bomb has been found so far, all possible precautionary measures are in place.

The police stated:
“We are taking all anti-terrorism measures and will ensure thorough checking of the area. If any concrete threat is confirmed, strict legal action will follow.”
Security Heightened Across Delhi
With the capital already under high security due to ongoing political activities and festivals, this bomb threat alert has further intensified surveillance and checking at sensitive locations across Delhi.
