BSF Claims 3,204 Bangladeshi Intruders Caught In India

BSF claims 3,204 Bangladeshi intruders caught in India in a year. The Border Security Force (BSF) deployed along the Bangladesh border has caught 3,204 intruders so far this year ending.

They also include many criminals. There were some of them who entered the country and were staying here for a few weeks or a few months.

While the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has claimed that no one has intruded into India from its border.

“The force has captured more than 60 Bangladeshi nationals and handed them over to the BGB since September this year.”

BSF Director General Rakesh Asthana said after the 51st Director-General level five-day talks of the two countries in Guwahati.

In these cases, his citizenship was confirmed and he came to India illegally from Bangladesh. But he had no other criminal record.

BSF claims 3,204 Bangladeshi intruders caught in India: The intruders, whose citizenship was not clear, were handed over to the state police for further action.

Asthana said this in a conversation with the media. While Director General of BGB Major General Muhammad Shafinul Islam said, there was no infiltration from Bangladesh into India.

Bangladesh’s GDP is increasing, jobs are increasing. Therefore, there is no reason why the people of Bangladesh crossed the border into India for employment or any other work.

Recently 25 fishermen from Bangladesh had crossed the border to Assam. The investigation found his visa expired and he was sent back to Bangladesh.

In response to a question, the BGB chief said, “Rohingya Muslims remain a major problem in Bangladesh and this problem is likely to persist until they return to Myanmar.”

In the talks, the Director-General of BSF also raised the issue of smuggling of narcotics, methamphetamine, goods, and animals between the two countries. It stated the need to stop it together.
