One terrorist was killed while the other was arrested alive in a brief encounter by security forces in central Kashmir’s Budgam district this morning.

During this, the security forces have also recovered AK-47, pistols, and their magazines.

Confirming this, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that one terrorist has been killed while the security personnel has been successful in catching the other alive.

This morning the police received information about the sighting of some terrorists in Manchoa area of ​​Budgam.

On the basis of the information, a joint team of SOG of Police, Army, and CRPF reached Manchoa and started the search operation.

As soon as the security personnel moved towards the place where the terrorists were hiding, the terrorists started firing on them.

The security forces asked the terrorists to surrender before responding to the firing but they did not agree.

When the terrorists refused to lay down their arms even after repeated appeals, the security forces started firing in retaliation.

During this, within about half an hour, the security forces killed a terrorist there.

After the accomplice was killed, the second terrorist managed to escape from the encounter site by breaking the police cordon while firing.

The security forces also did not give up the pursuit of the absconding terrorist. The terrorists who left Manchoa reached the Khiryu area as soon as they boarded a truck.

The security forces surrounded him there. As soon as the security personnel approached the terrorist, he once again started firing. The security forces asked the terrorist to lay down his arms.

At first, he did not agree, but when the security forces referred him to the family, he agreed to surrender. The army arrested him and handed him over to the police.

The truck driver, who was helping the terrorist to escape, was also taken into custody by the police. A pistol and a grenade have been recovered from the terrorist.

Local people say that both these terrorists were new. He had recently joined the terrorist organization. However, the police have not yet revealed the identity of the two.
