BWF World Championships: Another Victory For Lakshya Sen

BWF World Championships: Another victory for Lakshya Sen, now he can compete with his own partner.

India’s star shuttler Lakshya Sen has entered the pre-quarterfinals of the World Badminton Championships.

He easily defeated Luis Enrique Pereira of Spain 21-10, 21-17 in the second round of the championship.

The interesting thing about Lakshya Sen’s victory is that now he can face India’s HS Prannoy in the next match. The BWF World Championships are being played in Japan.

Lakshya Sen won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games this month. For this reason, he is also considered a contender for the title in the World Badminton Championship.

In the second round of the World Championship, Lakshya faced world number 74, Luis Enrique Pereira.

Perera could not last long in front of a better-ranked player. Lakshya Sen defeated them in just 36 minutes. Lakshya’s current ranking is 10.

Ninth seed Lakshya Sen may face India’s HS Prannoy in the pre-quarterfinals. However, for this, HS Prannoy will have to win his match, which is not looking easy.

In the second round, HS Prannoy faces the challenge of world number two Kento Momota of Japan. Only the winner of the match between HS Prannoy and Kento Momota will clash with Lakshya.

Neeraj Chopra will take part in Lausanne Diamond League, pulled out of Commonwealth Games due to injury.

Olympic champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has recovered from a minor groin injury sustained last month and is set to take part in the Diamond League in Lausanne, Switzerland, on August 26.

A good performance in Lausanne could ensure Chopra’s place in the Diamond League final in Zurich on September 7-8 as he is currently fourth in the table.

The top six players in the table will qualify for the final to be held in Zurich. The Lausanne competition is the last stage to include the men’s javelin throw event.

Neeraj Chopra had pulled out of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games after suffering an injury while winning the historic silver medal in the final of the World Championships in Eugene, USA, on 24 July.
