Case Registered Against 10 People For Assaulting A Dalit Boy

Case registered against 10 people for assaulting a 14-year-old Dalit child, police are investigating: Karnataka.

A case of assault on a Dalit child came to light in Karnataka yesterday October 1. A 14-year-old Dalit boy was tied to a pole and beaten up in the state’s Chikkaballapur district.

A case has been registered against ten people for the alleged inhuman act of thrashing the child. According to the police, the incident took place within the limits of Chintamani Rural Police Station.

Regarding the matter, the state police said that 10 people have been registered in Chikkaballapur district for allegedly tying and thrashing a 14-year-old Dalit boy after he suspected him of theft.

A case has been registered under SC/ST Act. Presently the boy is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Assault on suspicion of theft.

The accused had allegedly assaulted a Dalit boy suspecting him of theft.

Yashwanth, a resident of Kempdenahalli, was playing with other boys and girls of his age. It was alleged that Yashwant stole gold earrings from an upper caste girl.

Suspecting Yashwant, other children dragged the victim boy, tied him to an electric pole, and beat him up.

Mother was also beaten up.

The matter deepened when his mother, who came running to save the son, was also beaten up. The injured Yashwant and his mother have been admitted to the government hospital.

The incident happened on Thursday. Chintamani Rural Police has recorded the statements of the victim boy and his mother.

Police have registered a case against 10 people and an investigation is on into the matter.

There was a fight even after touching the idol of God.

Let us tell you that the case of harassment of the Dalit family had also come to the fore for the first time. Some time back in Chikkaballapur district, a Dalit boy was assaulted for touching the idol of God.

Along with this, a fine of Rs 60,000 was imposed on his family. The boy’s family was also boycotted and the issue was resolved after the intervention of government agencies.
