The CBI has arrested former GST Superintendent B Srinivas Gandhi while taking major action.
The arrest was made after influencing the witnesses in the case of depositing assets worth more than Rs 3.74 crore. Officials gave this information on Wednesday.
The investigating agency has registered a case against Gandhi and his wife for illegal property worth more than Rs 3.74 crore.
CBI arrests former GST superintendent: B Srinivas Gandhi was issued notices for his involvement in the investigation. The CBI has said that the accused did not cooperate in the investigation.
Necessary information and documents related to the case were also not presented. It is also alleged that the accused influenced the witnesses and prevented them from participating in the investigation.
The officials said that Gandhi allegedly prepared a fake corona report of his family members to avoid investigation. He was produced before the special CBI court, where he was remanded to judicial custody till May 7.

Nearly seven years old, the Commission has extended tenure more than 10 times till now. Five such judicial inquiry commissions are functioning in the state.

It has been more than 10 years since the Tadmetla Commission of Inquiry. Such is the situation in most of the commissions set up to investigate Naxal cases.
Waiting for the report, the tenure of the Commission is being extended again and again. So far, the only report of the Sarkeguda incident has been received by the government.
Formation for six months, the tenure increases.
Judicial inquiry commissions are constituted for six months. It is clearly written in the issued notification that the Commission will submit its report in six months, while it takes six months for the Commission to start functioning.
After this, the tenure increases from three years to three years. For almost a year, the functioning of most commissions has been affected due to coronavirus infection.
Officials of the General Administration Department said that the government sets a time limit for submitting the report. The tenure has to be extended in case the investigation is not completed on time.
