After completing the formalities, he will be handed over to the Chinese Army at Chushul-Moldo border point.

Senior Colonel Zhang Shuili, a spokesman for the PLA’s Western Theater Command, claimed that the Chinese soldier had gone missing on the evening of 18 October at the Sino-India border when he was helping locals find his yak.

Immediately after the incident, the troops stationed at the PLA border informed the Indian Army and hoped that the Indian side would help in its search and rescue.

The Indian side has promised to help and return the missing soldier by finding him. Colonel Zhang said, according to the latest information from the Indian side, the missing Chinese soldier has been found and will be handed over to China after medical examination.

He hoped that the Indian side would fulfill its promise as soon as possible and implement the consensus reached in the seventh round of talks between the senior commanders of the two countries to maintain peace in the border areas.

Opposed to a possible agreement with Taiwan

On the Taiwan issue, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian requested India to stick to the One China doctrine.

He said, ‘There is universal consensus by the entire international community including India on the One-China Principle. It is also the political basis for China to develop relations with other countries.

Therefore, we strongly oppose any official talks or signing of any official documents between countries with diplomatic relations with China and Taiwan. ‘

Objected to the meeting of Destro and Sangye

China reported that it had lodged a diplomatic objection to the appointment of Robert Destro to the post of Special Coordinator for Tibet.

Apart from this, he has also lodged a protest against the meeting between Destro and the exiled Tibetan government chief Lobsang Sangye.
