The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Air Force on Friday successfully test-fired an indigenously developed Long-Range Bomb from an aerial platform.

After this test, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The Defense Ministry in its statement said that the flight and performance of the bomb were monitored by a number of range sensors including Electro-Optical Tracking System (EOTS), telemetry, and radar which was deployed by the test range at Chandipur, Odisha.

The LR bomb has been designed and developed by the Research Center Imarat (RCI), a DRDO laboratory based in Hyderabad, in coordination with other laboratories of DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation, DRDO).
