Drug Smuggling Busted In Chandel District Of Assam
Drug smuggling busted in Assam, heroin and other drugs worth crores recovered. The Assam Rifles on Saturday recovered a large number of drugs near Moltuk village in Chandel district, which is said to be worth more than six crores.
The Inspector-General of Assam Rifles has given information about this. He said that he had received information about the movement of drug consignments along the Indo-Myanmar border, on which action has been achieved.
He reported that on the basis of a specific intelligence input regarding the possible movement of drug smuggling consignments along the Indo-Myanmar border from Myanmar to Assam, the deployed troops began a swift operation in the area of Moltuk.
In an extensive search operation in the forest area around Moltuk village, 670 grams of heroin and 1,24,000 WIY tablets worth Rs 6.4 crore have been seized. The narcotics have been handed over to the Chandel police for further action and investigation.
Case filed against drug traffickers in Punjab
Bathinda district police of Punjab on Friday recovered a case of drug traffickers from various places by recovering liquor, illicit liquor, intoxicating pills.
According to SI Tejinder Singh, in charge of Anti Narcotics Bathinda, the police team led by SI Jagroop Singh was patrolling the village Chak Fateh Singh Wala Link Road from village Tungwali.
Meanwhile, when the team suspected some people riding in a car, they were stopped and searched.
In the search of the accused, accused Jaswant Singh alias Jassa, boarding ward number 12 Maud Mandi, Maida Chadat Singh Wala, and Sukhpreet Singh alias Gaggi, resident of Shida Singh, Ramgarh Bhundad resident, 60 drug vials and 600 drug pills were recovered. Police arrested the three accused on the spot and registered a case
Meanwhile, on Saturday, three more people were arrested in the Assam Police recruitment question paper leak case. Thus the number of people arrested in the paper leak case has increased to 13.
A former DIG’s house, a BJP leader’s residence, and a tantrik’s ashram were raided in connection with the investigation. Large amounts of illegal property have been detected in these raids.
Meanwhile, an accused in jail has described it as a bigger scam than the Vyapam scam of Madhya Pradesh.
State’s Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Gyanendra Pratap Singh has said that the CID has arrested these three people from Guwahati, Tinsukia, and Nalbari. Many people are under custody for questioning.
A fast investigation in the case is proceeding. Hopefully, in a few days, she will come to the conclusion and all the accused will be arrested.
