Eight Lashkar-e-Taiba Terrorists Were Arrested In South Kashmir

Eight Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were arrested in Pulwama and Shopian, ammunition recovered.

Continuing their counter-insurgency operation in the Valley, the security forces on Friday arrested eight Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in two separate operations in Pulwama and Shopian in South Kashmir.

Arms and ammunition have also been recovered from them. The interrogation of the arrested terrorists was going on till late at night.

For the time being, it has been learned that along with providing shelter to all the terrorists, they used to provide them financial aid and ration and weapons.

On Friday morning, the police received the information of the gathering of six terrorists involved in the module of Riyaz Ahmed Dar alias Khalid alias Shiraz, the commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba operating in Pulwama, at a particular place.

At the same time, the police, along with the army and CRPF personnel, started monitoring the place where the terrorists were about to gather.

The terrorists gathered at their hideout and in no time the security forces surrounded them.

The security forces did not give them any chance to rescue or escape and caught everyone.

They have been identified as Rauf Ahmed Lone alias Amjad, Aaqib Maqbool Butt, Javed Ahmed Dar, Arshid Ahmed Mir, Rameez Raja, and Sajjad Ahmed Dar.

Security forces have also recovered a large cache of weapons from these terrorists.

According to information received from Shopian, at around 7 pm on Friday evening, the police, along with the army and CRPF personnel, had put up a Naka outside Alura village.

The Naka party signaled to stop seeing the two suspicious youths.

On seeing the Naka party, those youths changed their course and started running through the nearby garden. The Naka party chased them and both were caught.

Both of them are Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists and have been identified as Sameer Ahmed Butt and Mushtaq Ahmed Lone.

A pistol, a magazine, 40 cartridges of an assault rifle, a magazine, and other incriminating material were found from them.

Police officials concerned said that the eight terrorists arrested today in Pulwama and Shopian are being interrogated at two different places. Hope to get much important information from them.
