Encounter between security forces and terrorists in several districts including Churachandpur-Imphal in Manipur, two were killed; 12 were injured.

A major incident surfaced amid violence in Manipur. Several clashes between security forces and armed groups were reported in at least four districts of Manipur on Sunday, killing two people and wounding 12 others, officials said.

An Imphal police official said clashes were reported in Churachandpur, Khaching, East Imphal, and West Imphal districts.

Police said several Manipur police commandos and members of an unknown militant group were injured in the clashes.

The injured paratrooper was immediately taken to the hospital. However, the identity of the militant group has not yet been confirmed.
