Envoys Of China, Russia, Pakistan Persuaded Taliban For Reforms

Envoys of China, Russia, and Pakistan in Kabul persuaded the Taliban for reforms, also met Karzai and Abdullah.

After reaching Afghanistan, special envoys from China, Russia, and Pakistan have spoken to the Taliban’s interim government and former leaders there.

These people talked about the issues of the inclusive government, action against terrorism, and the human condition.

On September 21 and 22, special envoys from the three countries arrived in Kabul.

These envoys spoke to the caretaker Prime Minister of Afghanistan, Muhammad Hassan Akhund, Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muteki, the Finance Minister, and high-level government officials.

The special envoys also met former Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah. This information has been given by China’s Foreign Department spokesman Zhao Lijian.

This was the first time that foreign diplomats have visited Kabul to meet Hamid Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah under the Taliban regime.

These top leaders of former anti-Taliban governments have been present there since the Taliban occupation of Kabul on August 15.

In the initial days, Taliban leaders also spoke to both the leaders and consulted them regarding the functioning of the government.

The visit of the three diplomats coincided with a letter from the Taliban government to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres asking its spokesman Suhail Shaheen to be Afghanistan’s new ambassador to the United Nations.

The Taliban also demanded to be given the right to speak and attend the 76th session of the UN General Assembly from Guterres.

This session is going on at the United Nations Headquarters in New York these days. It is noteworthy that China, Russia, and Pakistan are in veiled support of the Taliban government.

The three countries are expecting the Taliban government to create acceptable conditions in Afghanistan at some point so that they can formally support the interim government.

World fraternity has expectations from the Taliban on terrorism, inclusive government, human rights.

If the Taliban shows a positive stand on them, the government’s support will be considered. At present, no country has recognized the Taliban government.
