Farooq And Omar Ready To Follow New Kashmir Thinking

Farooq and Omar ready to follow new Kashmir thinking, party leaders associated with fundamentalists in favor of the separatist agenda.

Jammu and Kashmir changed rapidly with Article 370 and its effect is clearly visible in politics. In such a situation, the challenge of the leaders who pursue politics with the help of separatist agenda is increasing.

Now, with the change in National Conference (NC), the challenge of moving fast is clearly visible. One faction is in favor of focusing the entire battle on statehood.

At the same time, a faction is still stuck on the issue of Autonomy and Restoration of Article 370. These differences seem to be causing discrimination in NC.

Farooq and Omar: Looking at the pull of top party leaders, the party leadership seems to be stealing the eye from these issues.

The National Conference, which ruled unilaterally over the politics of Jammu and Kashmir for decades, has been demanding votes in Kashmir on the issues of autonomy in Jammu and Kashmir and the restoration of the constitutional position before 1953.

After the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, its agenda has become completely irrelevant. In such a changed situation, the party has to find a new path to its politics.

The senior leadership of the National Conference is now ready to accept the situation and move forward, but some radical faces are seeing their politics sinking.

According to sources associated with the National Conference, Omar Abdullah now wants to move towards the future by shifting the politics of the People’s Alliance (PAGD).

Nasir Aslam Wani and Tanveer Sadiq, who are close to him, have also expressed their views on various forums in this context.

There is a discussion that Omar Abdullah is reportedly trying to increase closeness with some BJP leaders in Delhi.

Omar Abdullah has asked party president Farooq Abdullah to focus on the politics of NC and strengthen the lost base rather than the politics of PAGD.

Therefore, many NC leaders now raise the demand for statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, avoiding mention of autonomy and restoration of Article 370 in their meetings.

However, not all leaders in the party are unanimous on this subject. One faction still wants to move forward with the agenda of autonomy and the restoration of the constitutional position before 1953.

Among them, apart from former minister and senior Shia leader Aga Syed Ruhullah, former Revenue Minister Basharat Bukhari is still not ready to part with the separatist agenda.

Basharat has also questioned the agenda of the PAGD that it is seeking restoration of the situation before August 5, 2019, only to deceive people.

His agenda is clearly backed by radicals. Apart from this, the resentment by Aga Syed Ruhullah’s party leadership has increased so much that he is also keeping away from party meetings.

Prevented party leaders from commenting on policy issues.

According to party sources, the top leadership is facing difficulties in dealing with the growing infighting in the organization and is avoiding rhetoric on controversial issues.

At the same time, other leaders have been instructed not to issue any statement on policy matters.

Along with this, by holding separate meetings to convince angry leaders, it is being explained to them that it is now difficult to move ahead with autonomy.

The future of Jammu and Kashmir is in India and cannot be separated from the mainstream.
