During this time, the ongoing border dispute with China in eastern Ladakh and long-pending reforms for the rational distribution of resources will be discussed.

These reforms include traditions of holding various ceremonies and cutting down on non-military activities.

Sources said that apart from reviewing the security-related challenges facing the nation, military commanders will discuss recommendations made by different internal committees for various corrective measures for the use of resources.

Emphasis will also be given to increasing the operational efficiency of the army. The conference will be chaired by Army Chief General MM Narwane and all the top military commanders will participate in it.

Sources said that some of the proposals which will be discussed in the conference include closing or reducing the Army Day and Territorial Army Day Parade, reducing the cost of organizing on the Foundation Day and War Honor Day in different units, etc.

Significantly, a few days ago, during the seventh round of Corps Commander level talks between India and China, top military officials and political people reviewed the current situation in East Ladakh and discussed the strategies of the meeting.

The meeting of the corps commanders took place on 12 October. In this, there was a discussion between the core commanders on the agenda of setting the road to remove the troops from all the conflict points of eastern Ladakh.

In the meeting, along with reviewing the current situation in East Ladakh, the core commanders’ meeting discussed the main issues raised by India.

The CSG included External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, and heads of the three wings of the Army.
