Four Killed In Clash Between Police And Extremists In Pakistan

Four killed, many injured in a clash between police and extremists in Pakistan. Pakistan, which promotes terrorism and extremism, is now facing the brunt of it.

A banned Islamic organization of Pakistan has opened a front against the Imran government demanding the release of its leader Saad Rizvi and the removal of the French ambassador.

Five people, including three policemen, were killed and 15 others were injured in clashes between security forces and extremists on Friday.

Demand for release of Saad Rizvi

Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) took out a march from Lahore to Islamabad. The TLP has demanded the release of its leader Saad Rizvi, who was arrested last year for protesting against France.

Saad performed after a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad appeared in a French magazine.

Security forces fired more than 2,500 tear gas shells to prevent the radicals involved in the march from moving towards Islamabad. Violence broke out there after the action of the security forces.

According to the news agency Reuters, three policemen have died in this. At the same time, TLP has released photographs of the bodies of two of its workers, who died in a clash with the police.

Several people have been injured, some of whom are in critical condition.

TLP detained over 1500 workers.

Police have detained more than 1500 TLP activists across Punjab province. People associated with TLP have been arrested in all 36 districts of the province.

The TLP had announced to launch a protest against the detention of Saad Hussain Rizvi after Friday prayers.

He had said that he would implement ‘Plan B’ if its members were stopped from going to Islamabad. TLP workers have been protesting outside the organization’s headquarters in Lahore since Wednesday.

The action started against Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan, about 1000 activists of the organization were detained.

The Lahore Police has intensified action against the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) after announcing the march to Islamabad.

The police have detained around 1000 activists of the organization across Punjab province. People associated with TLP are being arrested in all 36 districts of the province.

According to the news agency, the TLP announced the launch of a protest against the detention of its chief Hafiz Saad Hussain Rizvi after Friday prayers.

The organization has said that if its members are stopped from going to Islamabad, it will implement ‘Plan B’.
