Grenade attack by terrorists in Safakadal, Srinagar, three including two policemen injured: Grenade Attack in Srinagar.
On Thursday night, terrorists attacked the police with a grenade in Safakadal, Srinagar.
Two policemen and a local civilian were injured in the attack. All three have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to the information received here, this attack took place around 9.30 pm.
A team of police personnel from the police post-Urdu Bazar along with the personnel of the 23rd Battalion of CRPF had put up the Naka.
On the other hand, terrorists hiding in a street threw a grenade targeting the Naka party. The grenade fell near the jawans and exploded with a loud bang.
Two policemen Javed Ahmed Butt and Abdul Majeed Butt besides a local civilian were injured in the blast.
Immediately after the blast, security personnel cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation to nab the terrorists.
Meanwhile, all the three injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. There are grenade shrapnel in Javed’s right leg and Abdul Majeed’s chest.
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti said that the process of political killings in Kashmir is not taking its name to stop.
He condoled the killing of his party leader Ghulam Hassan by terrorists in Kulgam and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh raised the issue of vacating 1400 quarters by Secretariat personnel in Kashmir and insisted that political workers be kept in safe areas to ensure their safety.
Expressing grief over the killing of his party worker Ghulam Hasan Lone in Kulgam, Kashmir, he said that proper security arrangements are necessary to prevent such deaths
