Grenade attack on CRPF jawans in Palhalan Chowk, 4 people including 2 jawans injured Grenade Attack.
Terrorists have lobbed a grenade targeting security forces at Palhalan Chowk in Baramulla’s district of North Kashmir. Two CRPF jawans and two civilians are reported to have been injured in this attack.
The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, while a cordon-and-search operation is underway to trace the attackers.
According to the police, when a team of CRPF reached Palhalan Chowk after patrolling, some suspected assailants hurled a grenade targeting them.
As soon as the grenade exploded, there was an atmosphere of panic. Two CRPF jawans and two local civilians passing out were injured after being hit by grenade pellets.
Grenade attack on CRPF jawans: Earlier, the security personnel chasing the attackers took advantage of the crowd and managed to escape safely.
Other CRPF personnel picked up two civilians including their injured comrades and admitted them to a nearby hospital. At present, the treatment of the injured is going on there.
Meanwhile, an additional team of Army, SOG, and CRPF also reached the spot and started cordoning off the areas around Palhalan Chowk. Once the siege is over, the search for the attackers will begin.
At the same time, the police officer says that the CCTV cameras installed in the square are also being scrutinized. He claimed that soon the attackers would be traced.

Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Anti-Terrorist Squad Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel apprehended an apple trader living in Pulwama, Kashmir, with cash worth Rs 30 lakh.
The apple trader was going from Jammu to Kashmir in a car along with his two companions.
The apple trader is being questioned as to why he was coming to Jammu with cash worth lakhs of rupees. He is being questioned at the Gandhi Nagar office of SOG.
Senior officials of the Jammu Police are not saying anything about this. It is also learned that they were also staying in a hotel in Jammu for two days.
SOG personnel blocked a toll plaza on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway after receiving information about weapons being found in a vehicle going from Jammu to Kashmir.
During this, an Innova vehicle going from Jammu to Kashmir was stopped for investigation.
During the search of three occupants of the vehicle, cash worth lakhs of rupees was recovered from the bag of a person. The said person told that he is an apple trader.
Unsatisfied with his reply, SOG officials brought him with them to Jammu to ascertain the source of the cash.
There is no denying that cash worth lakhs recovered from the trader may be related to hawala money.
