The People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) has once again changed its tone.
PAGD leaders have expressed disappointment over the outcome of the all-party meeting held in Delhi on June 24 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The manner in which it was expressed in the meeting that effective steps would be taken to remove the feeling of mistrust among the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Nothing has happened that other detained people including leaders of political parties will be released. This is a target.
Disclosing this in front of the journalists today, PAGD spokesperson MY Tarigami said that it has been decided that we will reach out to other political parties of Jammu and Kashmir,
We will discuss the issue of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir before the assembly elections.
Opinions will be formed. Let us tell you that last Sunday evening, a meeting of PAGD was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Farooq Abdullah at his residence in Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Mehbooba Mufti, MY Tarigami, Hasnain Masoodi, Javed Mustafa Mir, and Muzaffar Ahmad Shah.
The meeting was convened on June 24 to discuss the meeting chaired by the Prime Minister in Delhi.
PAGD spokesman Tarigami said they were not happy with the outcome of the meeting.
They have decided that as long as the people of Jammu and Kashmir are not given their due, their struggle will continue.
They will not rest until they take back their rights. To bring this fight to an end, PAGD will also talk to other political parties of Jammu and Kashmir. Will try to know their side.
Tarigami said that PAGD has decided in this meeting reiterating its commitment that the action taken by the Central Government on 5th August 2019 has caused the biggest loss to the people of J&K.
So it is very important to reach out to them to know their views. is necessary. We had started this process and it was decided to continue it further.
He said that as far as giving back the statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, it was himself said on the floor of Parliament by other BJP leaders including the Union Home Minister.
Now they must honor their word. Therefore, the assembly elections should be held only after the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
