Heirs Of SC Land Allottees Got The Land After 50 Years
Heirs of SC land allottees got the land after 50 years- Karnataka High Court’s decision.
The heirs of five scheduled caste people who got four acres each in 1972 under the Karnataka Land Reforms Act will finally be able to enjoy the property after 50 years.
The two ‘affluent persons’ who claimed to be tenants under these Scheduled Castes had somehow acquired occupancy rights over the entire 20 acres.
After 50 years, the Karnataka High Court has directed the Deputy Commissioner to give possession of the land to the heirs of the original allottees ‘Munithimma, Varada, Muniswamy, Muniswamappa, and Chikkagullonu’ within three months.
In the judgment, the court said, “This case shows how the grants made by the sovereign power in favor of the persons belonging to the Dalit classes are captured by the rich and influential people.”
