Income Tax Department Refunds Rs 2.13 Lakh Crore

Income tax department refunds Rs 2.13 lakh crore to 2.24 crore taxpayers. The Income Tax Department has so far refunded more than Rs 2.13 lakh crore to 2.24 crore taxpayers in the current financial year.

This information was given by the department on Wednesday. Under this, between April 1, 2020, to March 22, 2021, Rs 79,483 crore was refunded under personal income tax head and Rs 1.34 crore in company tax head.

Income tax department refunds Rs 2.13 lakh crore: The Income Tax Department said in a tweet, ‘CBDT has returned tax amount of over Rs 2,13,823 crore to 2.24 crore taxpayers from April 1, 2020, to March 22, 2021.

Of this, Rs 79,483 crore in 2,21,92,812 cases was returned in income tax item, while Rs 1,34,340 crore was returned in 2,22,188 cases under company tax head.

IRDAI gives instructions to insurance companies to stop insurance-related spam calls and messages.

India’s insurance sector regulator IRDAI has directed all insurance companies to register their message format with telecom service providers.

Its goal is to prevent unsolicited and fraudulent messages received by policyholders.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has issued guidelines pointing out the problem related to spam calls and messages received by policyholders.

IRDAI has stated in the guidelines that the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had notified a regulatory framework in July 2018 regarding unsolicited calls and messages.

According to the TRAI notification, all the major entities, including the insurance company, have to register themselves with the respective telecom service providers.

A header will be allotted to those who register. With this, they will be given an identity to ensure proper identification of all calls and messages.

IRDAI has directed the insurance companies to register themselves with the respective telecom service providers and provide compliance information in this regard on or before April 5.

It is noteworthy that in the last few years, various regulators including TRAI have taken a number of steps to get rid of unwanted calls and messages to the people.

Its purpose is to protect the customers from any inconvenience as well as to prevent fraud through spam calls.

In this episode, people get many types of calls in the name of insurance companies and people are not able to decide whether the call or message they have received is correct or not.
