A recent statement issued by the Modi government said that the changes in India-China relations are pleasant.
It was in the meeting of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Bali on 12 July 2022 that it was agreed to restore the pre-May 2020 status on the LAC.
After the Jaishankar-Wang meeting, on July 17, the meeting of military commanders lasted for 12 hours. In this, it was agreed to resolve the disputed issue of Gogra-Hotspring.
The process of withdrawal started on September 8.
The Defense Ministry statement said that the progress on the issues agreed on in the LAC was reviewed. As a result, both sides agreed to a complete withdrawal of troops from the Gogra-Hotspring area (PP 15).
According to the agreement reached between India and China, the process of withdrawal will be completed on September 12.
Now the situation before May 2020 will be restored in the Gogra-Hotspring area.
There is a situation of a border dispute between India and China in many areas. In such a situation, the understanding between the two countries in the Gogra-Hotspring area (PP 15) is a big deal.
Now the pre-May 2020 position near the LAC will be restored.
You can also understand this in such a way that the way the soldiers on both sides were stationed at a certain distance in this area from their respective areas, will remain the same now.
\Along with this, the structures which have been built from both sides in the area of LAC will be destroyed and this will also be verified from each other.
It is now expected that there may be a bilateral meeting between PM Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Samarkand, Uzbekistan on September 15-16, 2022.
Recently, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in the past that after the 16th round of talks between the military commanders of the two countries in Chushul Moldo on July 17, 2022, constant contact has been maintained with each other.
The Defense Ministry says that this initiative taken by both countries is conducive to maintaining peace in the border areas.
