Seeing themselves trapped, the intruders fled back to save their lives. Frustrated with this failure, Pakistani troops opened heavy fire on Indian bases in the Machhal sector and the Gugaldara sector. Pakistani troops targeted the areas of Muthal Top and Jungle Tekri.

Sources said that Pakistani guns were completely silenced after retaliation by Indian soldiers. Earlier, a team of terrorists from the Kalal sector of Naushera in Rajouri also tried to enter Indian territory.
