The construction of the Arak reactor first started in 1997. But it was only partially built. When the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action was agreed upon in 2015, Iran said it would not use it in the production of plutonium. The Arak reactor is not operational, but Israel has now eliminated the possibility of it.
This reactor, located 280 km from Iran’s capital Tehran, did not have any nuclear material, so there is no possibility of radiological effect from it. The International Atomic Energy Agency has also confirmed the attack on Iran’s sites.
Apart from this, Israel also attacked Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, and Kermanshah. Israel claims that projects for the development of unique components and equipment for nuclear weapons were going on near Natanz, which Israel also attacked to destroy.
Israel has made it clear that the operation will continue as long as necessary. Israeli military official Brigadier General Efi Defrin said that our goal is to reduce the threat to Israel’s existence.
