Imtiaz Ahmed had entered Sopore on 26 January to carry out a major incident but failed due to security arrangements. He was also punished for his whereabouts but he managed to escape.

This morning we came to know that he is coming towards Bandipora. On the basis of this, special blocks were erected at some places and in the afternoon he was caught from his hideout.

Five hand grenades, a pistol, and some cartridges have been recovered from Imtiaz. From his whereabouts, literature, and some objectionable documents of Jaish-e-Mohammed have also been found, he is currently being questioned.

The SSP said that Umar Shaban, a friend of Imtiaz, was also a terrorist. Omar Shaban was killed in an encounter with security forces in Sopore some time ago. Imtiaz had been working as an overground worker for terrorist organizations for almost two years.

Meanwhile, information received from Shopian states that this morning a joint task force of army and police surrounded Pinjaura village from all sides.

Security forces had received information about the hideout of the terrorists in the village by their own system.

The security forces searched all the two dozen houses on suspicion of locating the terrorists, closing all the way to the village. Jawanane also questioned some youths in the village on suspicion.

However, the soldiers removed the siege of the village and returned to their camps when the terrorists did not get any support during the search operation.
