Jammu And Kashmir Official Language Bill Passed From Lok Sabha

Jammu and Kashmir Official Language Bill passed from Lok Sabha, Amit Shah said – Remembrance Day. The Lok Sabha passed a bill on the official language of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

In addition to the official language Urdu and English, Kashmiri, Dogri, and Hindi have also been given this status. In this bill, the Lieutenant Governor has been empowered to take necessary steps to develop and strengthen the Gojri, Pahari, and Punjabi languages.

Presenting Jammu and Kashmir Official Language Bill 2020, Minister of State for Home Kishan Reddy said that there was a demand from the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the language they speak should be made the official language. The Minister of State mentioned that 53.26 percent population of Jammu and Kashmir speaks the Kashmiri language.

Welcoming Home Minister Amit Shah, the passing of the Jammu and Kashmir Official Language (Amendment) Bill was described as a memorial day for the people of the Union Territory.

Reddy said that Dogri speaks 26.64 percent of the population of the Union Territory, while currently, the official language status Urdu speaks only 0.16 percent population.

For the last 70 years, Urdu has enjoyed official language status. He said that 2.36 percent of the population of the Union Territory speaks Hindi.

Three Labor Bills passed from Lok Sabha

Under the new law, all migrant workers will be provided with the facility from the government to visit their original residence once a year. With their will, women workers will be able to work in the night shift as well.

Fixed-term staff will also get all the facilities like permanent workers. Even an employee working on a one-year contract will get a facility like a gratuity. Currently, gratuity is paid only after working for at least five years.

Entrepreneurs now need only one registration to run the unit. Now they have to do six types of registration. In the same way, entrepreneurs have to file only one return for adhering to all types of labor codes.

Currently, eight types of returns have to be filed. Labor inspectors will not go to inspect the unit without being told.
