Judicial intervention in vaccination case is not necessary: SC. Hearing on Covid management case adjourned in Supreme Court, said – Judicial intervention in vaccination case is not necessary.

The hearing has been postponed to the Supreme Court on Monday for the supply of all other essential materials including oxygen, drugs related to Covid-19.

Today a hearing was to be held in the Supreme Court regarding vaccination. All questions of the court were answered in a 218-page affidavit in the case by the Center on Sunday evening.

The Center said that this decision should be left to the executive in the larger public interest, there is no need for any judicial intervention in it.Talk about defending your vaccination policy.

In fact, earlier during the hearing, the court had asked the Center why the Center was not buying 100 percent of the vaccine itself, to which the Center said that it has made a policy to purchase 50 percent of the vaccine on its own.

Earlier in the hearing, the Supreme Court on Saturday ordered the Center to fix 700 metric tonnes and 1200 metric tonnes of oxygen supply every day for Delhi and Karnataka respectively.

The court advised the Center to set up a National Task Force to deal with the problem of lack of oxygen. At the same time, the court said that the government should resolve the current problem immediately.

A bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice MR Shah, hearing the case, had said that the Delhi government said it had assessed the need for oxygen based on the formula adopted by the Center.

On April 27, the Supreme Court took suo moto cognizance of the matter and asked the Center to reply on four issues.

These are four issues – oxygen supply, the anticipated need of states, the basis of allocation of oxygen from the central pool, the adopted methodology of communication for the need of states on a dynamic basis.

An increase in significant medical needs, including covid beds, was also placed under the issue requiring states.

At the same time, under the third issue of allocation, answers were sought regarding the central policy adopted in order to ensure proper availability of essential medicines including Remadecivir, Favipiravir, and Vaccination in the fourth issue.
