ICC Test Rankings: Kagiso Rabada snatched the number-1 bowler tag from Bumrah, Kohli-Pant out of top-10 in Test rankings

Beginning on November 1, India and New Zealand will play their third and final Test match in their three-match Test series. The Kiwi squad had already clinched the Test series by winning the opening two games.

Following the Pune Test, the ICC has released the most recent Test rankings, and Kagiso Rabada has moved up to the top bowling position, surpassing Jasprit Bumrah.

ICC Test Rankings: Kagiso Rabada rises to the top of the Test bowling rankings

In Test cricket, Kagiso Rabada has emerged as the new top bowler. By capturing nine wickets in the first Test match against Bangladesh, he made a substantial contribution to the victory. However, Bumrah has fallen two spots to number three after he was unable to take a single wicket against New Zealand in the second Test.

Additionally, for the first time since the beginning of 2019, Kagiso Rabada took the top spot, unseating India’s Ravichandran Ashwin and Australia’s Josh Hazlewood.

Rabada peaked at number one in January 2018 and has been in the top 10 ever since, until falling out in February 2019. Hazlewood is currently in second place, while Bumrah and Ashwin are now in third and fourth place, respectively.

Despite collecting five wickets against New Zealand, R Ashwin loses.

Ravichandran Ashwin has dropped two spots to number four despite taking five wickets against New Zealand. However, because he only claimed three wickets, his bowling partner Ravindra Jadeja has also fallen two spots to number eight.

In the series that Pakistan played against England last week, Naman Ali was a key player. During this period, he took nine wickets, six of which were in the second innings. His career-best rating points have now reached 759, and he has made a huge eight-place jump to place in the top 10 for the first time.

New Zealand left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner, who is currently in 44th place, jumped 30 ranks with 13 wickets against India in Pune at the same time.

Besides this, England’s Joe Root is still at the top of the batsman rankings, while Rachin Ravindra of New Zealand surged eight spots to 10th place.

Kohli-Pant is not among the top ten Test rankings.

The top 10 Test rankings do not include Rishabh Pant or Virat Kohli. Pant dropped five spots, dropping out of the top 10 and landing directly at number 11. Virat Kohli has also dropped six spots in a single stroke. His rating is presently 688, which puts him at number 14.
