Kashmiri Pandits will get their lost rights after three decades, the way to return will be easy: Displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
For the first time, there is hope for justice for the Kashmiri migrants who left their homes due to fanatic terrorists three decades ago.
It is now easier for them to get back their ancestral properties that were forcibly confiscated in Kashmir. They will not have to stumble here and there for their rights.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has launched a portal for the online filing of grievances of the displaced.
These complaints will have to be redressed within the stipulated time under the Right to Public Service Act.
You may be aware that with the onset of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir in 1989-90, a large number of people, especially Kashmiri Hindus, had to migrate from the Valley.
In that situation, the property of many people was captured or under compulsion, they had to sell the property at throwaway prices.
The Lieutenant Governor said that this facility will act as a big relief to the Kashmiri Hindus, Sikhs, and Muslims who have been homeless from Kashmir.
The troubles that the displaced have been facing since 1990 will end with this.
Reiterating the government’s commitment towards respectful return and rehabilitation of the displaced.
Sinha said that during the last 13 months, I have met many religious, social, political delegations. Everyone has supported the return of the Kashmiri migrants.
He said that this is the right time to heal and heal the old wounds for the foundation of a happy future. Together we all have to set a new example of brotherhood.
Following the ideals of Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi is implementing a comprehensive and effective action plan for the restoration of social justice and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir.
854 complaints received in the trial run: The Lieutenant Governor said that the portal was formally launched before the trial was conducted.
854 families filed complaints. This shows that there is a large number of displaced people waiting for justice for themselves.
File a complaint: This portal has been created to resolve the matters related to the property of the displaced.
The displaced have to register their complaint by visiting http://jkmigrantrelief.nic.in/ or http://kashmirmigrantsip.jk.gov.in.
Kashmiri Pandits will get their lost rights: Will get justice.
The application filed on the portal will have to be informed to the concerned revenue authorities by resolving it within the prescribed time period under the Public Service Guarantee Act 2011.
The District Deputy Commissioner will report to the concerned Divisional Commissioner Kashmir by updating all the registers in 15 days.
Besides carrying out survey and field verification of all displaced properties in his jurisdiction.
60 thousand families had migrated due to terrorist violence: The Lieutenant Governor said that about 60 thousand families have had to be homeless in their own country due to terrorist violence.
Only about 44 thousand families are registered with the relief organization in Jammu and Kashmir. Remaining families who migrated to other states and union territories.
The displaced had to leave their movable and immovable property in the valley itself.
Of the registered families in the state, 40142 are Hindu, 2684 are Muslim and 1730 are Sikh families. Some Hindu families still exist in Kashmir.
Law was made in 1997 for the protection of property:
The Jammu and Kashmir Overseas Immovable Property (Protection, Protection, and Restraint on Distress Sale) Act, 1997 was enacted on June 2, 1997, for the protection of immovable property of Kashmiris displaced due to terrorism.
The Act provides protection to the immovable property of migrants. Under this, the concerned District Magistrate was made the custodian of migrant properties.
This law was made to say that but the bureaucracy did nothing for its implementation.
This is the reason that the properties of the displaced were either captured thereby taking advantage of the opportunity or they were bought at throwaway prices.
