The commander of the Indian Army, Lieutenant General Harinder Singh, who was stationed at Leh during the stress on LAC from China, has now been sent as Commandant in the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.

According to sources, currently, 14 Corps Commander Lt Gen Harinder Singh, who was posted in Leh, will now be replaced by Lt Gen PGK Menon. Menon will take over the new assignment in mid-October.

Menon (PGK Menon) currently holds the post of Additional Director General of the Complaints Advisory Board, CAB at the Army Headquarters. He is in charge of the grievance system in the Army and reports directly to Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane.

Menon was also part of the recently held Indian and Chinese Army Corps Commander level talks. On the other hand, 14 Corps Commander Lt Gen Harinder Singh, posted in Leh, has been working since October 1 as Commandant of the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun.

Lieutenant General Singh has been monitoring every movement of the army on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) since day one. Singh has single-handedly led five consecutive meetings at the Corps Commander level of India and China.

On September 21, at the sixth meeting of the corps commanders of India and China, Menon began to negotiate. The purpose of this conversation was to ease the ongoing tension between the two countries on the border for the last five months.

Meanwhile, China has asked India to clear the strategic peaks along the southern banks of Pangong Lake. China has tried unsuccessfully to pressure India. In the last four months, there have been war-like situations between the two countries.
