Explain that the Union Home Ministry on Saturday made it clear in the Unlock-Four guidelines that state governments will not be able to impose any lockdown outside the containment zone on their own. It was clearly stated by the Center that barring a few select activities, all others would be allowed. The Ministry had also clarified that there would be no restriction on movement within or outside the states, nor would the states be able to issue a separate pass for this.
The country saw 78,761 new cases of corona infection in one day on Sunday, with the total number of cases has crossed 35 lakh. A week earlier, the number of infected had exceeded 3 million. 27,13,933 Corona patients have been cured in the country. At present, the total number of infections in the country has increased to 35,42,733! In the past 24 hours, 948 people have died due to infection.
So far 63,498 people have died due to the epidemic in the country. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 10,55,027 samples were tested on Saturday. In the last 24 hours, 87 in Tamil Nadu, 82 in Andhra Pradesh, 62 in Uttar Pradesh, 53 in West Bengal, 41 in Punjab, 22 in Madhya Pradesh, 16 in Jharkhand, 15 in Delhi, 14 in Odisha, 13 in Gujarat and Rajasthan- 13 people died of infection.
