Bommai has appealed to the people not to take the law into their hands. “No one should take the law into their own hands,” he said. Everyone should follow the instructions.

All issues will be resolved by this. It is being followed in many states including Uttar Pradesh.

The Karnataka government has banned the use of loudspeakers in the state for a few hours.

According to the instructions of the government, there will be a ban on playing loudspeakers in Karnataka from 10 pm to 6 am.

The government said that for this it is necessary to take permission in writing from the authorities.

The instructions issued by the government said, ‘The use of loudspeakers or addressing people will not be allowed from 10 pm to 6 am, except in auditoriums, conference rooms, community halls and banquet halls.

The circular has referred to the Supreme Court order which states that the noise level in public places where loudspeakers or public address systems or any other is being used.

There the sound should not exceed 10 dB(A) or 75 dB(A) whichever is lower.

The Karnataka government reiterated the state government’s order stating that the orders under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rule 2000 are required to be strictly followed.

Raj Thackeray had threatened.

The loudspeaker controversy started with a threat from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray. Raj Thackeray had threatened the use of loudspeakers in mosques.

Giving an ultimatum till May 3, he had said that MNS workers would read Hanuman Chalisa outside mosques if loudspeakers were used in mosques.

A case has also been registered against Raj Thackeray for his inflammatory appeal to the people.
