Ministry Of Home Affairs, Monitoring The Cases From SIMS

Ministry of Home Affairs, monitoring the cases from SIMS In preparation to curb drug smuggling like terrorism.

The Union Home Ministry has started trying to prepare a system of strict action against drug smuggling like terrorism.

Narco Coordination Center (ENCORD) has been set up to deal with drug trafficking on the lines of Multi-Agency Center (MAC) designed to counter-terrorism.

Along with this, SIMS (Season Information Management System) has also been created for high-level monitoring of large cases of drugs.

This is how you will get success.

A senior home ministry official said better coordination and surveillance systems among agencies are proving effective in detecting drug smuggling.

With its help, like terrorist activities, it will be successful in cracking down on drug smuggling.

This is how real-time input is exchanged.

According to a senior official of the Ministry of Home Affairs, although Encord was formed in 2016 itself, in 2019 it was expanded to the district level.

Under this, real-time exchange of information between agencies is ensured in every case of drug smuggling from district to national level.

For this reason, on the basis of information received in one district, immediate action is ensured against drug smugglers in any part of the country.

Complete work.

The official said that due to Corona, there was some disruption in the work of Record in the first six months of 2020 and 2021.

But now it has started working fully and the seizure of drugs on a large scale across the country is being seen as its success.

Formation of the committee for coordination.

The senior official said that earlier only the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) was responsible for combating drug smuggling, but this authority has also been given to DRI, BSF, SSB, Coast Guard, RPF, and NIA.

For coordination between them, a committee was formed in 2019, which has been headed by the Director-General of NCB.

E-portal ready.

Due to a lack of experience with other agencies in taking action against the accused under the ADPS (Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, an e-portal named SIMSĀ  has also been prepared.

Every case of drug smuggling is available on this portal and the action being taken in them is monitored by NCB.

Bilateral agreements with 26 countries.

Along with streamlining the system for action against drug smugglers within the country, the government is also trying to ensure action against the racket of smugglers spread in other countries.

According to a senior official, bilateral agreements have been signed with 26 countries for this.
