NIA Cracks Down on Organ Trade Racket Posing as Medical Tourism, Charges Four Individuals

NIA Cracks Down on Organ Trade Racket: The NIA has filed a chargesheet against four individuals involved in an international organ trade racket disguised as medical tourism in Kerala. The accused lured young donors with money and smuggled organs abroad, falsely claiming that organ trade is legal in Iran. Three have been arrested, while one remains at large.

NIA tightens the reins on the business running under the guise of medical tourism, files chargesheet against four people involved in organ trade racket.

NIA has filed a chargesheet against four accused involved in the international organ trade racket under the guise of medical tourism in Nedumbassery, Kerala. It states that the accused used to motivate young people to donate organs in exchange for money. They used to smuggle organs abroad under a big organ trade racket.

According to the NIA investigation, the accused used to identify organ donors in India. They used to exploit them by luring them with money through agents and internet media.

NIA Cracks Down on Organ Trade Racket: Is Organ Trade Legal in Iran?

A statement issued by the NIA said that the gang also contacted Indian patients in need and charged them about Rs 50 lakh to facilitate their organ transplant in Iran. The gang convinced the donors and recipients that organ trade is legal in Iran.

The accused have been arrested

The accused had prepared fake documents including seals and signatures of various government offices and officials to promote illegal organ trade. Three accused have been arrested. They have been identified as Sabit Korukulath Nasar, Sajith Shyam, and Bellamkonda Ram Prasad, while the fourth Madhu Jayakumar is absconding.

The person who threatened to blow up Amritsar airport has been arrested, he had demanded one crore rupees from the airport authority

Two days ago, there was a threat to blow up Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport in Amritsar, Punjab. In this sequence, Punjab Police has arrested the accused.

The name of the accused is Gurdev Singh. Police have arrested him from Ferozepur. Along with this, the police are searching for two accomplices of the accused. For this, raids are being conducted at various places.

 The accused had demanded one crore rupees

Gurdev Singh had sent an email two days ago threatening the airport authority to give him one crore rupees or else he would blow up the airport with a bomb. The accused had also written about planting bombs at a total of six places in his email, after which the airport authority complained to the police.

The search for two more accomplices continues

Along with this, tight security arrangements were made at the airport. Taking action, the police traced the IP address reached the accused, and arrested him. During interrogation, the accused also revealed the names of his two other accomplices. They are currently absconding. The arrested accused Gurdev Singh was produced in the court and taken on a three-day remand.
