NIA raid at Al Falah University

A high-intensity NIA raid at Al Falah University late last night has sparked widespread attention after officials detained the wife and daughter of Dr. Nisar, a professor allegedly linked to anti-national networks and terror modules. The National Investigation Agency intensified its crackdown following leads connected to the Delhi bombings case and the broader terror nexus operating across Jammu and Kashmir and parts of North India.

According to initial reports, Dr. Nisar’s wife, Dr. Suriya, who works as a gynecologist at a local hospital, was picked up from inside the university premises. His daughter, a second-year MBBS student, was also detained for questioning. Both remain under continuous interrogation as the NIA aims to trace possible communication, involvement, or knowledge of the activities attributed to Dr. Nisar, who has been under the radar since the Delhi blast incident.

The NIA team also confiscated mobile phones belonging to ten MBBS doctors, all associated with different departments at Al Falah University. Investigators believe these electronic devices may contain key evidence related to suspicious communication patterns, academic networks functioning as cover, and possible coordination hubs within the university campus. The agency has been monitoring the institution for months amid intelligence inputs suggesting that parts of the campus were being misused as a hub of anti-national activities.

Sources reveal that Dr. Nisar, who served in the Department of Medicine at Al Falah University, maintained regular contact with several individuals under NIA scrutiny, including Dr. Muzammil, Dr. Shahin, and Dr. Umar. These names have repeatedly emerged in intelligence chatter regarding extremist ideologies, underground networks, and attempts at radicalization within academic setups.

Following the Delhi bombings, Dr. Nisar reportedly went missing, triggering a nationwide search. He was later arrested in West Bengal, where he was believed to be hiding using forged documents. Officials claim he played a significant role in facilitating movement, communication, and planning for terror groups with roots in Jammu and Kashmir. His suspected involvement in transporting information, recruiting sympathizers from medical circles, and leveraging his academic position has pushed the investigation into deeper layers.

Jammu and Kashmir terror network

In 2023, the Jammu and Kashmir administration dismissed him from a prominent Srinagar hospital due to proven involvement in anti-national activities. This dismissal was connected to sustained intelligence reports pointing to his ideological leanings and support channels that aligned with extremist groups.

The latest NIA action at Al Falah University marks a significant step in dismantling what officials describe as a “deeply embedded academic-terror link network.” Investigators are focusing on potential financial transactions, encrypted communications, and links between medical professionals who may have been radicalized or coerced into supporting extremist missions.

Authorities expect more detentions and interrogations as the probe continues. Additional electronic devices, academic records, and communication logs are being analyzed to understand the scale of the alleged network operating from the university.

As the NIA intensifies its crackdown, the situation remains tense on campus, with students and staff under strict instructions to cooperate fully. The agency has not ruled out further raids in connection with the case. As the inquiry progresses, more information is anticipated.
