NIA raids in UP-Punjab in connection with extortion of funds from Khalistani terrorists.

The NIA on Thursday conducted searches at nine locations in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh in connection with alleged extortion and threats by Khalistani terrorists in Punjab’s Moga district.

An official gave this information. An NIA official said that the search operation was carried out in Barnala, Moga, Ferozepur in Punjab and Meerut and Muzaffarnagar districts of Uttar Pradesh.

An FIR was registered in this regard in May in Moga district under sections of the Indian Penal Code, NDPS Act, Armed Law, and Unlawful Activities (Prohibition) Act, he said.

NIA raids in UP-Punjab in connection with extortion of funds: The investigating officer said that this FIR was registered on the basis of information received by the Punjab Police.

According to which Arshdeep Singh of Moga, Charanjit Singh of Barnala, and Ramandeep Singh of Ferozepur – all presently abroad.

The NIA re-registered the FIR after taking over the investigation of the case. Three accused have been arrested, arms and ammunition have been recovered from their possession, the official said.

He said that the arrested accused had allegedly killed three Punjab-based businessmen and had also identified other victims.

According to the official, during searches, empty cartridge shells, 122 grams of narcotic substances in a polythene bag, CDs, mobile phones, digital devices including SIM cards.
