Nitin Gadkari Said- Road Infrastructure Will Be Like Britain

Nitin Gadkari said – in two years India’s road infrastructure will be like Britain. From the strategic tunnel and bridges to the construction of 22 green expressways, India will be in the line of developed countries like the USA, the UK, and Australia in the next two years. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said this in an interview.

He said that in the case of infrastructure, the emphasis is on integrated strategy. Road Transport and Highways Minister Gadkari said, “To take the infrastructure of the country to a new height, work is being done in an integrated manner as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The strategy is to lay optical fiber, transmission lines, and gas pipelines while constructing new highways. He said that the Ministry of Power would make plans for the transmission line and the Ministry of Information Technology would give its approval for optical fiber.

Similarly, gas pipelines can be laid on the major roads that are being built. Such is the preparation with the proposed 22 Green Expressway. Out of this, work has started on seven including the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway worth Rs 1 lakh crore. He said, ‘I am confident that in the next two years you will see a changed India. We will see similar work in our country as in the US, UK, Australia, and Germany in the field of roads, tunnels, and bridges.

Gadkari said that many strategic tunnels and bridges are being constructed in different areas of the country. Apart from this, 22 green expressways are being constructed at a cost of Rs 3.10 lakh crore. Out of this, 7,500 km of expressways are planned to be completed in one or two years.

He informed that negotiations for the construction of Chambal Expressway at a cost of Rs 8,250 crore in Madhya Pradesh are reaching the final stage. This is the first project of its kind, in which alliances are being made with the state government. Nitin Gadkari, who is also responsible for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), said the strategically important Z-Fold tunnel project costing Rs 2,379 crore in Jammu and Kashmir was stuck for a long time.

It has now been approved and construction is expected to begin soon. He also referred to the Zojila tunnel. Referring to the 1,320 km long Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, the Union Minister said that this will reduce the travel between Delhi and Mumbai from 24 hours to 13 hours.

The Union Minister said that apart from optical fiber, transmission lines and gas pipelines, there are plans to build industrial clusters along highways. Gadkari said that due to the Corona epidemic there have been some hurdles in the implementation of the projects, but the ministry is trying to turn this crisis into an opportunity.
