Pakistan Army killed five terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in the Mir Ali area of the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said forces launched an operation in the Mir Ali area on information about the presence of terrorists.
“During the operation, heavy firing took place and five terrorists including their commander Rahzaib Khoury were killed,” the Army said in a statement on Saturday.
The Pakistani Army further stated that the killed terrorists were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities against security forces as well as extortion and targeted killings of civilians.
Arms and ammunition were also recovered during the operation. The ISPR reports that the locals were pleased with the operation.
Pakistan has seen an increase in terrorist activities in recent months, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, after banned militant Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan ended its ceasefire with the government last year, media reports said.
Let us tell you that earlier this month, about 25 soldiers of the Pakistani Army were martyred in two separate incidents on the same day.
This included a terrorist attack in Dera Ismail Khan, which left 23 soldiers dead, and a military operation in Kolachi and Darazinda areas.
The organization investigating the Faizabad strike summoned the former ISI chief, and till now the Defense Ministry has sent two notices.
A high-level probe body has summoned Pakistan’s former spy chief Lieutenant-General Faiz Hameed next week in connection with his statement on the infamous sit-in by a radical Islamist group in November 2017.
The protesters were angry over some changes to the oath of elected representatives, alleging that it violates the Islamic concept of the finality of the Prophet.
According to The Express Tribune newspaper, the Commission has summoned former Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Hameed for the second time to record his statement next week.
