PFI Commander Asad Badruddin Went To Pune And Nagpur

PFI Commander Asad Badruddin went to Pune and Nagpur before coming to Lucknow, ATS started questioning.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has stepped up its investigation into the conspiracy of the blasts in different parts of the country.

The ATS has started questioning the Popular Front of India (PFI) commander Asad Badruddin and trainer Feroze on police custody remand. Both were taken to ATS headquarters under tight security on Thursday afternoon.

Sources say that Assad Badruddin and Firoz also visited Pune in Maharashtra before coming to Lucknow. They have received a hotel receipt at Gafarbeg Gali in Pune, which has led to intelligence agencies and vigilance.

It is feared that both had gone to Pune as well as Nagpur, and had recited the officials of some Hinduist organizations there. Some youths were also contacted there.

IB officials are also preparing to interrogate the two again. Both of the accused remain silent on most of the ATS questions.

According to one official, Feroze speaks only Malayalam, while Badruddin speaks and understands English. Although he does not have much knowledge of English and Hindi language.

This is the reason why the process of interrogation of both of them with the help of a knowledgeable Malayalam language is being carried forward.

Initial interrogation of the STF has also revealed the direct contact of Badruddin and Feroze to go to Bangladesh and the officials of the terrorist organization Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).

The ATS is now trying to find out the movement of both the previous days as well as to gather information about whom the two people came in direct contact with.

Sources say that after both of them came from Bangladesh, there has also been talking of staying at Hotel Le International on Tijla Road in Kolkata and meeting some members of JMB.

It is feared that both explosives and weapons were provided in Kolkata itself. Intelligence agencies are getting all such facts verified.

The investigation has also revealed that there are many cases against Badruddin in Kerala and in one of these cases, he was to appear in court on Wednesday.

It is noteworthy that STF arrested PFI Commander Badruddin and his partner Feroze on the evening of 16 February in Lucknow. Explosives, pistols, and other documents were recovered by the STF from his possession.
