Pinarayi Vijayan’s counterattack on Amit Shah’s statement said – CAA will not apply in Kerala

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the process of granting citizenship to refugees under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will begin as soon as the corona vaccination ends.

Reversing his statement, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that CAA will not be applicable in the state. Let us know that this year’s assembly elections are due in Kerala.

Earlier, Vijayan addressed a gathering on Saturday during the inauguration of the Left Democratic Front’s visit to the Northern Territory under the leadership of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) acting secretary A. Vijayaraghavan.

During this time he said this. Vijayan said in the meantime that some people have started talking about CAA. The Union Home Minister has said that work will be done to provide citizenship after the immunization campaign ends.

We have made it clear that CAA will not be implemented in Kerala. The Kerala government will not support such a crisis in the state. We are firm in our stand that we will not implement CAA in the state.

In West Bengal, Shah, while addressing a public rally in the past, said that he has promised that he will give a strong reply to those who spread propaganda about the CAA.

It is a law constituted by the Parliament. It is to be noted that on 10 February, the Ministry of Home Affairs had stated in the Rajya Sabha that rules are being framed under the CAA 2019 and this law has come into effect from 1 October 2020.

The ministry gave this statement in response to Congress MP Digvijay Singh’s question. He asked whether the rules to be notified under the CAA have been drafted.

The CAA was passed by the Parliament in December 2019. The law grants citizenship to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, who fled to India before 2015 due to religious persecution.
