In these posters, Muslims are forbidden from setting up shops or stalls near temples.
Posters with ‘Muslims cannot set up their stalls at the annual fair of Bappanadu Durga Parameshwari Temple in Mangaluru district of Karnataka are also put up around the temple.
However, the temple authority has denied putting up any such banner. The temple authority said that these posters have been put up without bringing them to their notice.
Temple administrator Manohar Shetty said, “The banner was not put up by the temple authority.
Someone put it up without our notice. The temple authority has not stopped anyone from doing business here.

Mangaluru Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said, “We have come to know about the incident. We have informed the local administration and temple authority about this.
We will take action based on their action. Similar banners have been put up in some other temples as well. We will take legal action and then take our next step.
What did the Minority Commission say?
The Karnataka State Minorities Commission has also given its response to this controversy.
Commission chairman Abdul Azim said on Wednesday that discussions are taking place regarding the temple’s decision not to allow non-Hindus to set up shops in the temple’s annual fair.
The matter will be resolved soon.
